Seems this old problem has returned with a vengeance!
Anyone perhaps from Dev channel knows if there's an incoming patch/fix for this as it's become really bad of late?

Also, I was thinking of turning of ftpm in BIOS until this is fixed, as this seems to resolve the issue for some.
I'm on the Insider Release channel (build 22000.469), so wondered if turning this off would impact my ability to update Win 11?
It's either turn this off until AMD/Microsoft resolve this properly or go back to Win 10 until they do (not something I want to do if I can avoid it).
Appreciate any insights on this, thanks.

Considering it is mostly AMD software problem, the fix will be probably as the new BIOS + AMD chipset update.

There was a problem back in October/November 2021 that reduced the AMD CPU performance in some builds between 15-30%, which was patched by a chipset update from AMD (sent to all the motherboard manufacturers) - is this what you are referring to, or something much more recently? If the latter, what brand of motherboard does she have? Maybe some board manufacturers are rolling out fixes earlier than others (I have a gigabyte X570 board), no chipset updates since late November 2021, which was for that other issue I mentioned.

It was just something that I tried first. Figured there may have been some new drivers and there were. She has an ASUS Prime B450M-A motherboard. If I remember correctly, I also updated the BIOS.

I'm on 22000.527 with a 5600X and no such issues. Is this only a problem with insiders? I never had the original problem either but updated everything anyway. I'm a high end gamer so I would have noticed issues.

The Windows 11 issue affected Ryzen 5000 series Level 3 cache. If you are using a recent Win 11 release and updated AMD chipset drivers, it should be fixed. AMD L3 fix

I'm a little confused. If you're in the Preview branch of the Insiders builds, why are you still on 22000.469?

Just somebody who plays the games that require powerful hardware. Not the browser based or mobile stuff. Or the ones that come pre-installed. World of Warcraft is high end. Candy Crush is not.

There was a reported issue but it was greatly overblown and I never experienced it at all. There were reports of up to 30% performance hits but the most ever actually documented was 4-5 % and only in a few instances.

Suppose it depends on what you define as powerful hardware. You're 6600xt is on par with a 3060? Give or take I haven't looked at numbers. That's a mid tier new card. My 2070 super wasn't even high end when it came out so it definitely isn't now:)

It still qualifies as powerful hardware. Anything that can play modern games at 30 fps or better at 1080p resolution meets the criteria for me. Those other types of games can be played on a toaster as they say. Yes your 2070 still fits the bill and always did. Heck, a 1050 or even in some cases, a 1030 still does as well. My 6600XT is a beast at 1080p which is all I need. My older RX 470 was still doing the job for the most part too. I don't need 4K or 60 FPS on Ultra settings. 40 fps on low or medium will suffice. 30 is playable

Yeah thats what I mean, all comes down to the individuals interpretation of high end. High end to me would be 4k 60fps or as close to. Personally I refuse to play at less than 1440p and 60fps. Some games let me get 4k depending on what it is ofc. But yeah for 1080p you're good all day man.

I have had the fTPM enabled since starting use of this mobo and CPU months ago and have not seen this problem at all. That's with a MSI B550-A Pro mobo and a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU.

When I read that article, I noticed many of the people reporting problems had X570 motherboards. The OP does as well. Could that be a common factor worth investigating? My B550 has no such issues.

I have a X570 motherboard and do not have this issue. Its mainly in earlier ryzens
