Solved Any free .pdf editors out there?


Thing is, I would use this kind of software so infrequently that I don't really want to pay for it, especially when it would just be sitting around and mostly get unused.

I actually filled out the fields twice with different content, emailed them to myself, opened them in 3 different PDF Readers..., all good on both counts.

I actually just started using PGFgear recently..., after my PC crash, AcePDF wouldn't honor my free key..., so far I'm pretty much blown away with this FREE utility!!! (y)

Quality UI too, it ain't chintzy!

Well I tried the portable version of it and it wouldn't let me do it. It said in order to "modify" it, I needed to upgrade to the Pro version.

It could be either the way the form is designed, or I'm doing something wrong. I dunno. 😕

You must have tried to "edit" the form instead of filling the form. Editing the form means you want to change the form's design. That requires Pro. Filling in the form works fine on the free version.

Click the "Highlight fields" button and then click the Text editing icon (the icon under "Tools" right next to the Hand icon). Then you can fill in the form. Actually, clicking "Highlight fields" is optional, but it does make it easier to see where the fields are.

Or will the Editor itself be enough and work?

That's all confusing, making heads or tails over all those icon choices on that chart.

There is no such option in any toolbar in PDF-Exchange in version 9.5 that I can find but the link you provided is appreciated. I downloaded it and will look at it later. Till now I have always resorted to sending an email to get help and not once did anyone at pdf-xchange tell me there was a manual I could find the answers in . . . so it is in fact NOT Patently false. As far as I can tell YOUR statement is false. It may not be false but I cannot prove it correct. Maybe if you post a picture of just where this "box" is then I could admit you are in fact correct.

THAT'S my problem . . . it's called "Contents" in mine. Maybe that's why they changed the name of it. But I have the PDF file now so I will remember to actually read it. At least the parts I think I can use. I bought it because of the drawing features which I never actually used yet but I'll read up on that section of the manual. But there are YT videos as well.

Yeah, I can fill out lines within the document, but now what I'm running into is filling in certain squares with numbers with each square next to one another but they have to be entered separately number by number with each number in it's own separate field.

As you can see, entering it in as a sentence won't work. I even tried using the space bar between the numbers and couldn't get them to line up properly. 🙁
