Any UK users using SKY GLASS TV's

Hi folks
Adressed more to UK folk here :

Seen a load of commercials about SKY TV getting away from Satellite dishes and using good quality Smart TV's ( GLASS TV LED 4K UHD / HDR with proper black level so modern films etc don't always look like they were filmed in dark dungeons with a single candle for illumination) and internet net connections to access SKY services -- instead of unsightly satellite dishes with a load of cabling -- and actually offering customers cheaper prices (a Business giving better service for less money in 2022 !!!!! -- surely it must be a con !!!! but apparently not) . Anybody got one of these things and how does it compare with the older satellite "Q box" system -- I'd assume you need decent Internet but that's a given.


What OS do these things use and can you plug things like Amazon fire sticks into them so Kodi / VLC etc still work for your own multi-media streaming.

Anybody ??

They are sh!te, sent mine back within 48 hours and got a huge discount going back to Q, constant freezes that require a complete reboot, horrible picture particularly watching footie, junk menu, the pucks don't work and require constant reconnecting
A p!$$ poor attempt at replicating ATMOS but yes, they can take a fire stick, you'll have to power the firestick though as Glass doesn't have any USB slots capable of it. 6 months ago, Sky had more people working in the returns dept than the sales dept.
Apart from the above, it's fine.
Are they starting to peddle this to Europe then? I'll give the stand alone box a go later in the year, at least I can watch that on a decent OLED TV

I'm normally an early adopter with Sky and I do like the idea of losing the dish, but I won't go anywhere near Glass, having no local recordings and being at the mercy of when the provider deletes your saved programs is not for me, but the real nail in the coffin for it is having to pay to fast forward/skip ads (free for the first year) - nope sorry that's just too far!!!!!

I forgot about those bits, add those to my experience and you really do have the complete honest review of Sky Glass, oh did I mention the weight of this thing?

Also, 65" is the biggest tv offering....that's 20" too small for my front room!!!!

Sadly not, it's just we moved to a smaller house and couldn't fit the 85" in the bedroom anymore

I will give Glass a miss. Thanks for the info
