Windows 11
Hey!

I'm using two systems now. I'm using Windows 7 and Windows 11 but I have problems on Windows 11 where my keyboard doesn't really respond well especially when playing games. The latency is around 1 or at 1,5 seconds after every key tapped.

The problem is obvious when I play video games but it exists even when I'm browsing something.
It's only like that on Windows 11 while Windows 7 is totally fine.

What could be a potential solution for this? Is this driver related or?

Thank you for reading!

Additionally, knowing what applications are running in the background will also help. RAM size and Free RAM available will be tremendously helpful, too (this is not a suggestion to use a utility to free RAM, mind you, so don't take it that way - just need to know what you have available versus what is being used in the case of your RAM).

Also, might want to check Task Manager and see if anything is constantly using your HD, especially if you have a mechanical HD, as that will definitely slow things down.

Let me provide you with all the information you need in order to diagnose it. Keep in mind that I know this is Windows 11 related since I was talking to League of Legends support and they have told me that they cannot really help me either because this is just an early build. I experienced some better performance and less input lag when I right click on the League of Legends process in Task Manager and put my priority to "High".

I'm not the only person who experiences this kind of behavior and it's not limited to League of Legend specifically. People experience it while they are browsing as well so that was the reason why I keep typing here on this forum. I have expected someone to have the same problem.

I have 2 SSDs.
RAM is 8GB
Graphics: AMD R7 250,1GB DDR5
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860k, 3,79 quad core.

The problem didn't exist on the first build of Windows 11.

Thank you for reading!

First of all, that isn't all that is needed, not by a long shot. Way more information is needed.

Second of all, SSDs come in a variety of speeds and capacities, not to mention connectivity solutions (SATA, SATA II, SATA 3 - 6 Gb/s, M.2 SATA, NVMe PCIe). Based upon your CPU, I'm guessing probably SATA III, maybe SATA II. But even if hte motherboard supports up to SATA III, if you're using a SATA first gen SSD, for example, then it will definitely be slower than using a SATA 3 compatible drive.

You really need to take a closer look at what is running when playing LoL, especially to see what might be accessing the drives, as that will always slow things down, especially as you have low RAM and a lot of processes will cause a lot of paging to the drives to keep RAM available to use. I really feel that having too much run in the background is going to be the root cause here.

Also check your security settings for Windows Defender, something there might be causing issues as well.

This is one of those situations where more knowledge cannot hurt. If I were a technician looking at your computer physically, I could get all this information and a lot more, easily, on my own, without needing to ask yo to provide it.

Unfortunately, though, no one here is there with you, so we cannot access the information ourselves, So we need you to provide it for us.

Do note: We are not asking, nor will ever ask, for any logins, passwords, or serial numbers for any devices / hardware / programs / etc. But, things like manufacturers of hardware, model numbers, and the like are crucial so we can research the relevant information. It could be something as simple as your Manufacturer provided driver for a device was replaced by Windows, and needs to be reloaded on. It could be something genuinely complicated as Windows Defender is blocking LoL access to restricted folders, so LoL is having to constantly write information to temporarily folders, slowing your system down a lot. But, in your first post, you mentioned it happens outside of LoL also.

Thanks for your help! I will find some way to sort it out myself and it will probably be fixed the next builds.

Hello guys,

I updated my windows to windows 11 for a while now and tried to come back playing forza horizon 4 or Forza 7. Not having problems with any other games like: Rise of the tom raider, State of decay 2, Rust, Assasins Creed Valhala, Day z, The Forest, Fall Guys, etc.
(not sure if its only microsoft games as i only have both forza from them.

I tried to get graphics down even though I don't think this is the problem.

My setup is:
Processor: I9 10900K
Mother Board: Rog Strix z490-E Gaming
Memory: 32gb 4600hz
Graphics: msi Rtx 3090
SSD: Samsung 980 pro.

Using a samsung g9 screen with 240hz 5120 x 1440 resolution.

Anyone know what might be happen or what can fix it?

Already tried:
Change keyboard repeat rate
Update all drivers
Update game
Some other videos on youtube but nothing fix it.

Thank you fellas!

Ahhh, never would have thought to look at that - I play Forza 4 a lot, and sometimes it has 0 issues but every once in a while it plays like I'm using a computer from 1996.

And I'm betting I had PowerToys open the few times it's done that....

Thanks for reporting back!
