Pretty sure I'm gonna wait not only for the final release to come out but I might wait six months to a year before I finally upgrade. That way most of the bugs will have been worked out.

Have 11 on AMD machine and will be installing 11 on INTEL machine as soon as I post this.
Maybe someday I will have important data - or not!

There's always an option to run multiple OSs on one PC, now I have 2 W10 (normal and insider dev) + W11 + Linux Mint That's not counting Virtual Machines.

I simply don't have time to dual boot - and it will be a good experience for my students to see it running live when I'm teaching , particularly the A+ class, as we can go through the whole installation procedure, the upgrade procedure, and more, and more.

Plus, I keep putting off my (very much needed) local NAS. I have almost 5 TB of storage space on this rig, and yet I don't want to partition drives for dual booting, don't have the time to swap and play and swap and work, and would need to throw in another drive to have a dedicated drive for Win 11.

Plus, I need to know in advance if I have any issues using the tools in Google Classroom, Teams, and our customized apps in Win11 for our classes, rather than waiting - because some omf my more ... shall we say, "Enterprising" students are goingto get Win11 IP builds, and I just bet one of them is going to try to make excuses for things not working....

John, I'm also not a big fan of repartitioning drives for dual boot. I don't dual boot often, but when I do I use a method Kari outlines in a tutorial where you can dual boot with no virtualization and no repartitioning required. The root of that solution is installing the 2nd OS to a VHD because you can native boot from a VHD.

The other great thing about this method is that you can tear it down extremely quickly (a matter of seconds).

It took me a few stabs at it - the leak refused to upgrade, so I had to revert, then upgrade.

For something that only took 5 min to DL, for some odd reason, it too 60 minutes to install. Computer rebooted numerous times and Explorer was closed a couple more, but it finally got done, so I'm using it now.

I updated my 10 to 11. So far all is working fine. Few manageable bugs. Nothing major.

It is my fantasy that Microsoft creates a new version, mismanages it for a decade, then when they have gotten it into such a state that it is no longer supportable, creates a new release. That is the best case scenario IMO. Worse case is they start with the same crap.

PC is not a toaster, there's an unbreakable connection between hardware and software like OS. If they are not in perfect sync (and they never are because of constant changes and consumer needs/wants),most of it became too complicated for human brains. Such changes are also hardly predictable and all is in state of faster and faster flux. We may be expecting too much too fast.
