My pc has WinRE on it and I create rescue media using Macrium, all is fine. My other pc also has winRE on it and I want to try out Aomei Backupper and create rescue media on it, I notice Aomei uses WinPE which is not on my pc will it still work ok?
I was really just playing with Aomei as I also use Macrium on that machine as it's my testing machine for trying things like that on

I have played with AOMEI and in the end, the only feature it has over the free version of Reflect that is worth using it is it allows incremental backups. Other than that, AOMEI is not as flexible.

I accept the gui is more intuitive for beginners but it does not take long to learn the Reflect GUI.

When it comes to winRe or winpe, reflect downloads the extra files it needs for winpe, so I assume AOMEI does as well but not tested.

I prefer Reflect WinRe as I can backup my 32HB emmc tablet over wifi.

Any backup system that enables you to get into the Windows command line and use most windows commands is fine. the PE version of Macrium has no problem and probably more built in Windows drivers. Not sure of the WINRE version as I had a bit of a problem in using it to restore some VM's from within the VM where Macrium failed to detect HDD's due to lacking the Virtio disk drivers -- probably could have been solvable but the PE version worked perfectly - left it at that although I could perhaps have got to the bottom of it.

Use whatever works best for you -- if you never need to use the windows command line from these recovery programs then it doesn't I suppose really matter so long as what you decide to use works.

Cheers

The recovery I had to do on my daughters laptop earlier in the week was only possible because I used a WinPE flashdrive created with MR.

Backup first and then what's the problem !!! Seems like the argument is I don't want to drive because I might run out of Gas (excluding electric cars for the moment) but then I'm too scared to put Gas into the car.

A good backup system should be able to recover from anything - even bare metal. You need 2 sorts of backups -- the basic OS and User data. If as is always advised these days you keep OS and data separate there shouldn't be a problem and the OS can be installed on a much smaller capacity device or partition.

One should always check that RESTORES always work too. No point in making what seems a good backup if the restore fails.

Cheers

Maybe be a personal choice but I keep WinPE off the machine on a separate drive, saved a lot of trouble on Tuesday evening for sure.

If space is an issue, you could just zip the folder?

I manually copy all my folders with personal files to my external and internal SSD/s.

These are the essential folders unless a person has made their own folders, everything else can be deleted.

@cereberus I find it good just for certain files, that I tend to move from one machine to another. I don't think space is an issue :ROFLMAO: only too much of it.

You'll get four to five times (approx) faster file transfer speeds/rate when using NVMe or SATA SSD these days. I can transfer 100 GB from my Primary SSD to my second or third Internal SSD in a couple of minutes. Just saying...;)

I did, and tried many times. It created only one time today, but I had to format USB, now it doesn't create neither as ISO nor on to USB, the creating page opens I choose ISO or USB and after a while it get closed suddenly.

I find a page while searching for solution on Google which is AOMEI Backupper fails to create bootable media

and I downloaded iso from there https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkcyDjKJJ6KwiAErMiTmVlIy5-bv

Is this proper ISO file. Can I use this as bootable media or it must be created in my PC?

Lastly. what does it for Create a Bootable Windows PE Disc/CD/DVD/USB with AOMEI PE Builder
