If I set the "Let apps run in background" setting off will the UWP apps still automatically update without having to do it myself via the Microsoft Store app (I hardly ever use it)?

That setting applies to the app itself, whereas the Store does the updating, not the app itself.

If you stop the Store from running in the background, that will probably prevent automatic updates.

IIRC, it was a generic setting in Windows 10 but apprently it's an individual one for each app in Windows 11. Weird, now I can't find this individual setting in each Windows 11 app.

There's a setting to disable all apps in Winaero Tweaker. What will happen if I check it? If the Microsoft Store app is responsible for updating the apps, then it shouldn't be able to do it since it's disabled. That way I'd have to manually run the Micosoft Store app to update the apps so I might as well not check this setting.

If starting with Windows 11, apps must be disabled one by one, then I don't get how can a setting that disables all apps exist.

EDIT: After disabling Winaero Tweaker's setting to disable all apps, the individual apps' setting to disable themselves is now showing up.

EDIT: I checked the disable background apps setting in Winaero Tweaker and now the setting inside each app to disable itself no longer show up so I'll uncheck it and I'll stop checking the NTLite setting to disable background apps as well.

Anyone? So, if I uncheck the "Let apps run in background" setting, will apps still automatically update without having to do it myself via the Microsoft Store app (I hardly ever use it)?

So, it looks like if I disable background apps they still update.
