Hello all, my issue is that when I restart my system most of my stratup programs are opened to the system tray and all is good. However I have 3 programs that startup opened after restart so I have to manually hit he "X" in the right hand corner of the app and then it dissappears into the tray. Is there a way to automatically minimize them to the tray like the others without any intervention fromm me? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

most programs within their own settings have an option on minimising to the tray.

you could also try the programs exe file > properties and set that to start minimised.

best of luck, Steve ..

Clicking the "x" in the upper right corner does not minimize an application, it closes the application.
It sounds like the problem applications have their own taskbar icons and you just don't want them to open at startup. If this is the case, press Ctrl, Alt, and Del simultaneously, click "Task Manager" and use the startup tab to disable them.

Ben thanks for the response you're normally correct. Here's an example, Powertoys opens full screeen when I restart and when i hit the "X" in the top right hand corner (normally used to close programs), Powertoys goes down to the system tray. I have 3 programs that do this. I just want when I restart that the programs that belong in the system tray start in the system tray until they are needed.

please try, place your cursor on the top bar of the window you want to minimise
right click the top bar and on this menu is minimise
hold the 'shift' key and then click minimise on that menu.

see if the settings hold on restart.
best of luck, Steve ..

Hello Steve and thanks for responding. When I do as you suggested it just minimizes the app so it's still open at the bottom of the taskbar. I'm interested basically that it closes but remains open in the system tray like everything else thats in there.

Here's an image of my restart hope it helps. In the image during reboot those 3 windows open but if you look in the system tray all 3 of those programs are already running. So when I select the "X" to close the program, it closes but remains running in the system tray.

Ok, I've figured out a couple of my issues. 1) The FXSound application had 2 startup entried in different areas. Once I figured out which I could delete I don't see the window at startup any longer. 2) The Powertoys app had the same thing but a little bit different. It was in the startup folder but also created a task to run the program. Once I deleted the one in the startup folder, that window also does not popup any longer. 3) The iDrive app hasn't be so simple. The app has some issues with it that the window always open after restrat. Once I close it and select the iDrive icon from the system tray to run, the app opens and logs me in again. So if I close the window, the app doesn't run...weird. Thanks to everyone for the assistance.
