Hi folks
With the EOL not too far away of Office 2021 (Oct 13 2026) are there any more stand alone (non subscription) versions of Office to be released. Office 2024 LTSC is not normally available by retail as it's supplied to businesses usually who have a VL type of licensing arrangement with Ms and stillneed a stand alone version for thier clients.

Office 2024 BTW doesn't have publisher in it if you still use that application (it's actually still quite good) - Office 2021 has it though.

Cheers

That's a direct quote from the linked Microsoft support page. How many confirmations do you need?

Of course there are. Microsoft needs the revenue. But don’t any major changes.

Too many laptops with different system specifications.
The upsell is encouraging you to save everything on OneDrive. That's almost as good as M365, since it's recurring income.

Good!! -- :-) :D

Some of us choose not to rely on the cloud and want things kept locally.

One size does not fit all, imo...
Ta -- that's cleared it up -- whether though it will be available via retail is another matter but I'm sure copies will trickle through.

Is the question about a retail version of standalone Outlook 2024?

Office Home & Business 2024 includes Classic Outlook 2024 for Windows.

The main query was about publisher -- however thanks for the answer on Retail for Office 2024. I'm using the VL Enterprise version of Office 2024 LTSC which AFAIK isn't available via normal retail but only via corporate / SME licenses.

i would have to think that Microsoft has to stick with the retail or on premise installer version of Office , there are those like myself that just flat out refuse to use it's Security nightmare 365 , security nightmare why? because NOTHING in the could is ever safe. Period.
If and when they ever decide to cram 365 down our throats and I am assuming sooner or later they will. That's when I move to Open Office.
