In my C:\Windows folder I have a few other folders, all from Alienware and they are all .msi with names like DellUpdateApp.msi, DellCommandUpdateApp.msi or DellUpdate.msi Can they be deleted? they look quite old by the dates and I thought they had probably been used by Dell to install updates and are now finished with.Screenshot 2021-11-13 160921.jpg

How much space are they taking up? If it's not that much just leave them alone.

The MSI extension indicates they are installers So I would be careful about deleting them, they could be used by Dell's own update system that keeps specialist apps and drivers current.

Unless they are causing a huge issue I would leave them alone

Thanks @barman58 I was really just curious about whether they were "leftovers" or not, I am not short of space (still got 1.65TB free on that drive)
I will just leave them be. Thanks Nigel

You can try to rename them, add an extension to folder names like "BAK"
Wait for 3 months, look for error or issues then erase them.

For example I uninstalled Edge from system. But these folders were still on system.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeCore"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeView"

I renamed the folders to;

EdgeCoreBAK
EdgeUpdateBAK
EdgeViewBAK

I waited for 2 weeks, then i deleted them.

It is what I do, when I want to delete a folder or folders from the SystemDrive.

Thanks @Feuer All sorted by @barman58 If I did want to try anything like that I would just move them to a different folder or to a data pen
