Asus Motherboard, B350M-A, 3 beeps on reboots, not normal boots!

Is this weird?

Asus Motherboard, B350M-A with 32GB RAM, DDR4.

When the computer is turned on (from having been off), it boots fine.

Sometimes, when rebooted, there are 3 beeps from the MB and no reboot, and I have to switch the PC off and then turn it on again and it boots fine. I say sometimes, because sometimes the reboot is fine.

I have searched online and apparently 3 beeps on Asus means a RAM problem. So I ran memory checks, and no problems have been found.

Any ideas please.

What I don't understand is that in never happens from a normal boot just a restart.

Do you have Fast Boot enabled in the BIOS?
If so, try Disabling it.

NOTE: My x570 ASUS board, likes CSM... Enabled (which is NOT the norm).

Both settings are found on the Boot tab in the BIOS.


I'm not sure if this will solve your 3-beep problem, but I can't think of anything else that "might" affect only a Restart and not a cold boot.



NOTE2: On a side note, when testing RAM, it's best to run 9 passes... just to be sure.

Fast Boot not enabled.

CSM was enabled. So I disabled it to try. One reboot without the beeps, next reboot the beeps were back.
So, likely not the CSM.

I'd probably run the memory test(s) again, and probably overnight. Nine passes takes a while.
