AWCC Installation Manager .exe, I found it installed even though I don't use it anymore...

Under
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\
you will find some folders which contain the driver files, for Alienware these are named awcc_*, for example

awcc_awccappandwin32_dchu_component.inf_amd64_59695c79e4256506

if you look inside you will find AWCCInstallationManager.exe
The problem is that Dell is including the AWCC with the driver files because it considers the AWCC as part of their product.
You can delete the AWCCInstallationManager.exe and uninstall everything Dell and Alienware on your PC but you will get errors if you look into Event Viewer because the driver will try to install it at every reboot.
I don't know if the driver inf file can be somehow edited to prevent AWCC from being reinstalled.
If someone knows please let us know.

DELL's AWCC is almost like malware if you consider the fact it tries to reinstall itself once and a while on boot or something..
DELL should be ashamed of themselves.

I was able to prevent from reinstalling AWCC by using the Policy Editor of Windows 11 Pro

Computer Configuration -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Manage Updates offered from Windows Update -> "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" (Enabled)

Then I did an uninstall of everything Dell or Alienware and used the Windows Driver Explorer to cleanup all Dell/Alienware drivers (I still have the monitor driver). In my case the only hardware I have from Alienware is a monitor and a mouse. This AWCC software allows you to control the RGB which I don't care about.

Definitely an annoying app but revo uninstaller certainly does the trick. Make sure awcc is installed and then use revo to uninstall. Windows still installs the driver but there should be no more awcc. At least that's how it works with my display

I have the paid version of Revo and it doesn't solve the problem. Also I don't think Revo is the best uninstaller in my experience I come to rely more on the free HiBit Uninstaller. Stop recommending Revo.

Should have been clearer, my fault. It's true, nothing can stop it completely. However, you can keep it off until wu pushes a new version of aw-software component driver. Every time that updates, awcc with reinstall again. You must also leave aw command center win32 component device driver ([email protected]) installed for this to work.
All I do after updating aw-sc driver via wu is to uninstall awcc and dell manager(?) with revo (can probably use any similar app). It stays off until the next one. Best solution i have found so far and def open to better ones myself

I guess if you look there are better ways:geek:. Group policy to block specific drivers works wonders. I used only the hardware id for aw-cd driver in device manager/software components. Worked like a charm. FU awcc -chuck norris style
Followed these instructions; gl

I get AWCC stuff, too, the only problem I have with it, are app crash errors in the event log. It gets installed, because of my Alienware AW3423DWF OLED monitor.

I ended up having to remove an entry with Autoruns.
