If you find yourself in situations where you need to post long commands using Command Prompt from Recovery, here is an easy way:

1. While in Windows, write all commands you will ever need in a text file and save it in an easy to access location. This could be on your internal disk, another device on the network, USB device, or in the Windows Recovery/ Installation disk itself.
2. When you boot into Recovery and launch Command Prompt, simply type Notepad.
3. This will open a blank notepad file for you.
4. From the Menu bar, open the text file you created in step 1.
5. Copy-Paste the required commands (but make sure that the paths are correct).

This will save you a lot of time and also avoid errors.

You can also execute batch script from Windows Recovery Environment.

I have attached a batch script you can execute from Command Prompt within Windows Recovery Environment. All you need is to use CD command to navigate to where this batch script is being stored and execute version.bat command.

But what will it execute?

It is not necessary to create a notepad file on the potentially problematic computer and anticipate any command that may be needed in the future.
The commands can be saved to the bootable flash drive and then entered into notepad.

@zbook: thanks for beating me to the punch. Recovery too often means the contents of the C: drive are inaccessible. As you say, better to put stuff on removable media that's accessible even when the main drive may not be. You could add this stuff to a bootable repair UFD, I'm thinking...

Thanks for the tip. I have edited the OP accordingly.
