Black Screen

Hi everyone!
This is my first post in this forum, I hope I wrote it as required.

I'm experiencing black screens when playing games. Sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes I can play an hour or so and it happens after that.

So far I made a clean reinstall of Windows 11, bought a new PSU, reapplied thermal paste and thermal pads to the GPU, updated bios (but it got worse, as and aditional cause of BlackSOD appeared, which I knew from earlier - so I went back to the previous version), tried different versions of AMD drivers, dissabled AMD's ultra low power state (change registry EnableULPS from "1" to "0"), and set the GPU memory clock speed as P3 as Min/max (800 mhz), so it doesn't underclock, which might have caused the issues. I also disable the GPU cores P0 and P1, and P7, so that the core doesn't go too low or too high, I found this worked for some people in different forums.

I'm attaching the V2 log zip file.

Does anyone have an idea what more I could do? My case is well ventilated (3 intake and 1 outtake) and I rarely overclocked my gpu, so it feels weired that it should die, it's been working great and never really overheating, fans never runs high because of the well ventilated case. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Kindest regards,
Martin

Are drivers for your components updated?

If you're not sure, press WIN + X or Right Click on Windows logo on your taskbar, select option Device Manager or press M.

When you're in Device Manager, open Display adapters, Processor, etc. and right click on a component you want to check.
Select Update drivers --> Search automatically for drivers --> Search for updated drivers on Windows Update and let Windows Update search for drivers.
If nothing will come up, you can try to select Properties instead of Update drivers --> Details --> From drop-down list select Hardware Ids, and copy 1st or 2nd ID.
---------------------
Search for drivers on trusted driver site, such as producer site.
If you want to do that automatically, you can try downloading Driver Identifier from the link.
---------------------
If you decide to download Driver Identifier program, install program as usually, open it, and click Scan now button.
After a while, driveridentifier.com site should open, with all device that your computer is using.
If you can update something, try. In my case driver for Intel UHD Graphics have an update.

Please tell me if you have any drivers to update.

NOTE: I'm not an expert, but maybe this will work :)

Also, before updating any drivers, please do a backup of them.

You can do an backup by making Windows restore point, or putting this command in cmd
"dism /online /export-driver /destination:”driverletter:\foldername”.

Black screens and crashes are going to be quite common with new builds and pre-release software and should always be reported to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub.

I have looked at the one crash dump and can see that the cause is related to the graphics system.

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x3B_80000003_dxgkrnl!DXGMMS_EXPORT::Initialize

The 80000003 code indicates a breakpoint was encountered - this should only happen when a debugger is attached so it is unusual.

Looking in more depth at the crash I can determine that the graphics system was trying to write to a drive but an error was being returned due to the drive being unavailable.

Code:
0xfffffa8fc5f086a8 : 0xfffff800272c6bf1 : nt!KiDispatchException+0x1b1
0xfffffa8fc5f086b8 : 0xfffffa8fc5f08f70 : !da ""failed with NTSTATUS 0xc0000189..We broke i""
0xfffffa8fc5f086c0 : 0xfffffa8fc5f08f70 : !da ""failed with NTSTATUS 0xc0000189..We broke i""
0xfffffa8fc5f086c8 : 0xfffffa8fc5f086e0 : !du "mms2.sys$"
0xfffffa8fc5f086e0 : 0x00320073006d006d : !du "mms2.sys$"
0xfffffa8fc5f086e8 : 0x007300790073002e : !du ".sys$"
0xfffffa8fc5f087b8 : 0xfffff800330cfbe0 : dxgkrnl!DXGGLOBAL::m_pDxgmmsExport

The NTSTATUS code means:
Code:
 STATUS_TOO_LATE ntstatus.h
# A write operation was attempted to a volume after it was
# dismounted.

I hope this may help you in your feedback to Microsoft.
