Solved Blank screen appears after login (pc)

Iam on my tablet to report this issue. After login on pc all i see is blank screen. Im going to rule out BSOD for now. What should i do

ctrl+shift+esc to open task manager
new process - regedit
look for

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\

string value "Shell" should have a value of "Explorer.exe"

does it?

Thanks for your hint...ive decided to abort and reset pc. Im used to it...i reset numerous times on my old pc... luckily any personal fies are safe externally. But because of this issue, decided to put in sleep mode rather than the usual shut down. What do you think

This happened to me on two work laptops.
It turns out that a mapped server drive was the issue. Windows Explorer couldn't connect to the drive unless I was on the work network. If I was disconnected or connected to home wifi (before getting the work VPN connected), all I would get is the black screen, and task manager would not show.
Removing the mapped drive solved the issue.

I hope this helps some of you out there.
