I have a B3600M bazooka motherboard and have just bought a WiFi and Bluetooth card. I've fitted the card but it comes with a short cable, one end plugs into the card the other end into a Bluetooth connection on the motherboard. I can't locate the Bluetooth connection on the motherboard, anyone help please?

After a quick look at the manual I can't see a bluetooth connector either. What bluetooth card have you got? It could be a usb connection so would go to a usb header on the motherboard.

All the machines I have and have worked on that include Bluetooth have it as part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter. My 5-year-old Desktop came with the optional Wireless 802.11n adapter with Bluetooth in a PCIe X1 socket. There are Bluetooth dongles available such as from IOGear to gain that feature that plug into a USB port, have not come across a card for Bluetooth-only yet. I use Bluetooth mice with all my Notebooks, Windows and Linux, a couple do need the dongle to get it.

Not yet, I'm still trying to work it out. This is the first time I've come across a PCIE card that has an additional cable to attached to the motherboard. Normally the PCIE cards are plug and play!

You'll be looking for a Bluetooth connection forever because it's not on that board. I would think your card would have BT on it since you said it's a BT/WiFi card. That's usually what people buy them.

Yes, that is an USB cable

Connect the other end in either of the MB plugs marked with red circle

1648889981953.png

The cable only fits one way there...because the plug is keyed so it can only be plugged in in a specific way.

If it is a tight fit, it may be better to plug in the cable to the MB first and then plug in the card and finally the other end of the cable into the card.

Just opened the desktop and checked again. there was already something plugged into both USB plugs on the motherboard. I've disconnected one of them and discovered that it was actually a Dual band WiFi card, which obviously wasn't working. The new card is now working and I eventually have WiFi and Bluetooth running. Thanks for all the help!
