But why should I pay money for something that is worth less to me than something that is entirely for free? To get me to use StartAllBack, the author of StartAllBack should pay me much more than $50.

It is $5 not $50. It is like FREE. I give $5 to a panholder sometimes doing nothing. Why not give $5 to an app developer for his efforts? But this is just me.

Because, to me, personally, it's worth much less than $50 below zero, as it would force me to sacrifice my current taskbar (which I value a lot) plus a few other useful features. The bigger taskbar with the bigger icons size are a distraction to me, which kills my productitivity some. So, I would be losing time. Time is money.

In certain situations, I'd like to be able to pin programs to the left Taskbar while keeping the middle monitor the main compositional desktop.

Actually, the ability to pin a program anywhere on any Taskbar would be even better!!!

windhawk has been updated to work for 24h2. install or run portable version and search for mods:

"Taskbar on top for Windows 11"
"Vertical Taskbar for Windows 11"

both work perfectly based on my tests on 24h2

New to this forum so I don't know if this has been dealt with elsewhere. I too have been cursing the problem of the taskbar position in Windows 11. There are fixes to install, but I haven't bothered. Then the other day, quite by accident, I moved it to the side of the screen. That took me by surprise - didn't know I could do that. Tried moving it to the top - no problem. Did the same on the second monitor. All positions worked. So has Microsoft actually listened and finally included this in an update? I can't think of any other explanation.

My recent build, with a new installation of Windows 11 required a couple of days using Winaero Tweaker and Revo Uninstaller to get rid of loads of junk, and to bring back some useful - I would say essential - features from earlier versions (I go back to DOS). Perhaps they should offer these utilities as standard - but then they'd only try to "improve" them and mess them up, as usual.

You're mistaken. You must be using a 3rd party app or tweak.

No, you have mistake. At least, thousands of the years, MS prepared an experimentalrelease for the such a talented user to have their top taskbar feature, and it's totally free. Just become ana experimental user in Winows Inseder Program and be sure that you have latest relased version.
