Bring Back Windows Vista/7 Logon Screen

y'all, is there any way to replace the W11 lockscreen with the old Vista logon screen?

Since that is before logon to user I know of no third party app that can do that. Vista and 11 are 2 different breeds when it comes to the GUI. Built on entirely different code.
If you don't like the login screen, use netplwiz and use automatic log-in instead..
I chuckled when I did a quick web search. It seems you may be the ONLY user who wants that or any part of Vista. Guess I must ask "why?"

I too had to smile at this one. Back in 2007 I had a Dell that came with Vista. I never had a problem with Vista and in fact I recall rather liking it at the time.

you made me giggle lol. i knew i was the only cause i've been looking for some software for foreeever, so i figured i'd post my issue here to seek for some help or be ultimately discouraged to give my wishes up :").
i love vista and i've been trying to turn my thinkpad into a vista workstation using the minimum system resources possible. got a functioning taskbar, some tray icons and the gagdets on the desktop, and obviously a remastered aero 4k cursor. gave up on windowblinds bc it's so broken on 11 it was a pain in my neck (i just get happy when adobe acrobat randomly uses aero basic windows : ] ). thanks for replying. i love vista and idc what others think

vista was ahead of its time. give it good enough system resources and it'd been a hit imo

WHAT? HOW??? installing 7 is already a difficult thing i didn't even know vista was possible. i have a 10th gen intel cpu with an nvme ssd. how did you manage to do this? is it your daily driver? it looks amazing!

modded nvme drivers from one of our Chinese chums.

Not hard to run vista on a sata ssd with intel 8th gen cpu and a 300 series motherboard. One missing driver acpitime.sys

might be able to mod the win7 acpitime 300 series driver but havent bothered trying yet.

I havent tried vista with a 10th gen machine.

I expect it is not too dificult to run win7 on 10th gen with nvme. No win7 igpu drivers for 10th gen so graphics card would be needed.

Just been mucking around with win7 getting the 300 series acpitime to work on 600 series and using fernandos drivers for samsung 980 seems to work

If i remember correctly, somebody modded the biostar win7 8th gen uhd 630 igpu drivers to support whiskeylake uhd 620. It is on sevenforums somewhere.

No idea if it would work on 10th gen, but I doubt it.

any old graphics should do. I have kept an ancient 9500gt just in case I need something to experiment with.

if all you want is the logon UI... use winaero to enable 'require un/password' and then just replace the default logon wallpaper in %programdata%

yeah. but i don't have any graphix card. all i had was an hp with a radeon 520 graphix card which allowed me to downgrade from 10 to 7 years ago. i might give up tho.

yeah, ik. but it's just not the same. doesn't feel right. anyway, moving on, do you know any customizergod alternatives? it doesn't work well on 11. i can only change the network icons, but the sound ones change all to the same, and the battmeter ones can't be modified for some reason.

I too liked vista. It had a bad rap because of the massive change in security with UAC, and the way drivers, programs etc were previously written to assume you always were an admin.

Once windows 7 came along, devs got used to the new security structure, so things were more stable.

Vista also had a botched vista capable sticker problem, where systems were sold saying they were capable but were not, and thus ran poorly. Unless you bought a high end machine, vista was slow and barely usable.

I honestly think both windows 7 and vista were gorgeous Operating systems, I hate the flat look of everything since windows 8. It's so boring.

I liked it when buttons had glow and gradients, and frames etc.
Now it's all flattened with Mica, Material, Fluent or Acrylic, or what ever the hell they're calling it now!
