Hey all,

Just got this new Asus laptop and, as the title says, upon turning it on for quite literally the first time, I got a BSoD.

Would anyone be kind enough to check this dump out and let me know if it indicates a software/driver/etc-related fluke or if I should just return this laptop for another while I'm in the return window? Haven't had any issues since (been a few hours and I've put the laptop through some heavy load since with no problems), but I'm leaning toward returning it because the error code just sounds pretty bad (INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR). Already tried Googling for answers but I couldn't really find a definitive answer as to what it actually means.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may help.

For goodness sake, It's a brand new laptop. Return it for a replacement or refund before the store return window expires.. If you do too much to it,it could void the store warranty which would pass it off to the manufacturer warranty.That opens a whole different can of worms.

I'd normally do just that and be done with it if it weren't such a pain to do in this particular case. If it turns out to just be the Intel driver being finnicky and there's no other issues, though, it'll save me a lot of time and hassle.

Were you able to install Smart Sound Technology (SST) drivers?

And were you able to install the Realtek and Intel updates at the bottom of this post?



At the time of sale the computer manufacturer is responsible for the hardware, OEM operating system, drivers, applications, etc.

New laptops should not have BSOD.

New laptops should be problem free.


Please contact the computer manufacturer for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
