Can a cable transfer both power and a data stream?

Working with a Huion video tablet which in its basic configuration, uses a cable that has three separate connectors on one end: HDMI, power and data. The three are merged inside a junction "block" and emerge as a single mini-c cable end that feeds the tablet.
I want to use the video tablet as a blank sketching tablet at times. That requires removal of the HDMI information and retention of the power and data exchange.
At the moment I am using a single lightning port to mini-c cable which provides all three needed signals. Is there a port and cable combination which could omit the HDMI
and support only power and data transmission? I have Lightning ports, mini-data ports, high-speed USB ports and an unused HDMI port. To draw on the tablet, I could unplug the "full" cable and plug in a cable that would not be carrying the HDMI information.

Evidently, I am not a cable engineer:( . Does this sound feasible?

You are saying you have a 3-in-1 connector that is presented in one block and you are asking is there a separate 3-in-1 connector or even a 2-in-1 connector without the HDMI?
There are a variety of 3-in-1 mini-c cables out there. I currently unsure which one would suit you because I can't visualise your all the three connector types.
Just to clarify then, you have a 3-in-1 cable with HDMI, power and data on one end. What are the power and data connectors? Is power a jack plug and data connector an ordinary USB-A connector?
Maybe upload a photo to this forum with a picture looking into the connector?

As an alternative to changing the cable, is there not a menu option in the Huion to disable the video? That could save a lot of bother if there was.

I certainly could, but right now I'm using a single cable that accomplishes all that the three headed "Hydra" cable does. I guess I'll just have to give in and put all that cable onto my NUC. The cable bundle is nearly as big as my NUC. I'm just trying to stay away from that "jungle of snakes" cable. I'll give it a run and see what happens. Sincere thanks for your response.(y)
