I been having problems since Friday it just stays stuck at a certain number say 8% on any update even windows defender definition updates if I restart the pc then the percentage goes up. It doesn’t download from the Microsoft Store either it’s stuck too and in reliability monitor it says windows update stopped working sometimes. I did an in place upgrade but kept everything in case something was corrupt and with all new system files it’s still the same. Everything was fine and then Friday boom it started it has to be happening to someone else? Anybody? I’m on release preview win 11 23h2

For the last 2 days, The store wasn't working properly. I thought I was the problem. I went back to my previous image. The problem was still the same. I looked at all my images and the store wasn't working properly. But last night it began to enter without any problems. I realized that I wasn't the problem

I've had a similar problem running 'Windows Update'.

I fixed it by running this tutorial.

So what happens is windows will say downloading updates and stay stuck at a certain percentage. It could be any percentage 8% 50% downloading. Or I could just click check for updates and it will stay in endless loop checking for updates until I restart the computer and then it will say up to date. If it’s stuck downloading any update after restart it will finish the download then install. Upon any of these occurrences I get windows update stopped working in reliability monitor and here is an image of the details IMG_2480.jpeg
I reset windows update as with the batch file in a post here same thing. I did an in place repair yesterday no fix. Sfc /scannow no integrity violations DISM scan health all good chkdsk all good. Everything works fine my games all work every application/game I have works perfectly. No errors to be found anywhere and this started 2 days ago randomly out of the blue before that no issues. I am at a loss

Which updates are talking about and have you verified the update history?
It could be any update as simple as a windows defender definition update getting stuck downloading or a regular update. No matter what it is still have to restart the pc to finish the download same error in reliability monitor. Sometimes if I just click check for updates even if there are no updates it will never stop checking for updates until I restart the pc for it to say up to date and same error. What do u mean update history. It really sounds like my issue is similar to this guys All Windows Updates Downloading 0% but I’m not sure what he did

Every single update that is available (release preview) is installed since win 11 22h2 and now on 23h2. I can still install them I just have to restart the pc to resume the stuck download (which triggers that reliability monitor error) before I can install it. This has only been happening since this weekend. And I tried that

I installed that update in February when it released and it didn’t fail at 96% and I didn’t have problems with windows update till March 8 but could that update be causing the problems should I uninstall it

I don't know. Usually, the problems are instant. But, the Preview (which no one should install) might just be the one that is causing the problems.
Only one way to know would be to uninstall the KB5034848 if it's available to uninstall. That one brings a host of "improvements" to the OS.
Amongst them would be Moments 5 and the long awaited support for 80GB/s USB4 (Thunderbolt).

Im on release preview as an insider. I can see if I can uninstall it but wouldn’t it just install it again if I searched for updates. Also since tomorrow is Tuesday and they didn’t release anything last Tuesday maybe MS will release some kind of update tomorrow to fix this mess they made. But I’m always looking at the reliability monitor error it even say fault name ntdll.dll could it be permissions like the other dude who knows but maybe I shouldn’t mess with anything since everything else works fine. It’s a very stable machine all in all runs games/applications great doesn’t crash no bsods. So I guess I’m being kinda OCD if one thing isn’t working right now don’t fix what isn’t broken cuz the more you mess with it the more you could break. It’s a computer it can’t all be perfect. lol.

Well, since you are on the Insider channel then, you will receive these previews as that's what you signed up for.
If everything is working fine then, leave it alone and wait for the other updates to come down the chute IF it can
update at all. Let us know tomorrow if you do receive updates.
