Cannot close popup

I just got windows 11. I am getting popups (not in the browser) that do not have an 'x' to close and i cannot get rid of them.
Here is an example.

Did you click on the 3 dots at the top to see if there is a way to disable it?

Also, Settings / System / Power and Battery.

Hi Richard, welcome to the Eleven Forums 🙏

As soon as I seen your image I knew it was a Lenovo. My wife has a Lenovo. I stopped trying to disable that rubbish. Frustrating. I believe it has something to do with the Lenovo Vantage application. Popups all over the place, battery, mic, camera etc etc. I haven’t yet gotten around to investigating if further to learn how to turn it all off. The Lenovo laptops seem to have an array of bloatware extras.

I have a new Lenovo Yoga, was going crazy over the battery indicator pop up staying visible. I found this thread and saw comment about Lenovo Vantage settings and found the option to turn it off! In LENOVO ADVANTAGE, go to Settings, Power, page all the way down to bottom of screen and there's a box to turn off the Lenovo Vantage Battery widget! Seriously, why would this be buried so deeply?!?

Thanks to Richard above for the clue to where to find it, I was obsessing over finding a way to turn that pop-up off!

Thanks too for figuring this out. Been driving me nuts. I can't understand why there is nothing on that window to turn it off, or back on from the taskbar or hidden icons for that matter. I guess you could pin Lenovo Vantage to the taskbar if you have the real estate.

Anyway my details are a little different. New Lenovo IdeaPAD, latest Lenovo update. Windows Search Key>Lenovo Vantage>[hamburger - three bars at top left]>Device Settings>Vantage Widgets>Vantage Widget. Toggle off.

Hope this helps some other frustrated soul.

Yeah, I've got the same setup as well. And I already do have Lenovo Vantage pinned to my taskbar. I find myself going into it pretty frequently, but I wasn't able to find that particular setting.

Lenovo Vantage might be considered bloatware but it's excellent as far as firmware and driver updates are concerned.

if you dont use it, disable it from running in Task Scheduler. Lenovo, HP and Sony are notorious for scheduling tasks to start their services in the background

Definitely. I want to be able to use it when I call on it manually and not have it running in the background all the time.

I go into Task Scheduler as well as msconfig and services.msc on a fairly regular basis since you never know what kind of unknown 'new' service pops up in any one of them that you wouldn't necessarily be aware of.

disabling the tasks wont restrict them from loading manually. it will preven them from auto loading at logon or startup (whatever the task is set to do). you can also make a batch file to terminate the service(s) when you want to manually close out of them (ie - you opened it after already being on the pc but are done with it and dont want the popups to show up anymore)
