Can't Read Text In Popup Balloons

Windows 11
Since my upgrade to Win 11 a week or so ago, have been having lots of quirky occurrences. Here's one ... the popup balloons when you hover the cursor over the icons in the system tray ... has white text on a white background. Unreadable of course. My searches to change either the background or font color have proved fruitless.

If anyone can point me to info on how to change this, it would be much appreciated.

I found it also, but it seems to have something to do with the list of fonts that show in applications. I did try both settings (checked & unchecked) and clicked the restore, but it had no effect.

Hello, :-)

As a workaround, you can change the default system font to use a bold font of your choice to help make it more clear. Of course, this will affect all text.

The OP is not alone regarding this issue, I have the same problem. No solution has been provided in any of my searches.

Tried your suggestion Brink, but didn't work. .reg file ran, I restarted, but still the popups in the system tray were completely white.

Odd.

As a test, toggle between light and dark mode below to see if that may refresh it to show the correct text and background color for the pop-ups.

Ok, that's progress. Changing to DARK "fixed" it so I can read text in popups. Poking around a bit, the look of many apps have changed, most I can live with. But, Word has a black background on new blank documents. That's hard to look at.

Thanks allot, I'll try to adapt to the new look or find alternatives. It's interesting that the task bar and the text in the popup are all Arial Bold. (suggestion #4) and white. I also seem to have lost the taskbar search box (search pops up with slot for typing, but old fancy display is gone.

If anyone does find a way to change the text from white to black, I'd very much appreciate hear about the process.

Oh well, guess I'll grow to like Win 11 ... eventually.
