I would hope so, they sure aren't in any hurry. I was going to try to fix it myself like I did on my i7 cpu PC a while back but the 26300.9278 ISO from the Microsoft site wouldn't even run the Setup.exe file. I then extracted the install.wim file from the ISO and ran the DISM command which failed with the same 0x800f0915 error.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:E:\Sources\install.wim /LimitAccess
Now I have downloaded the UUP Dump ARM version and I'm waiting all day for it to extract the ISO. Oh, forgot to mention when I tried to do a repair install from Windows Settings Recovery/Reinstall it started downloading experimental build 26340.XXXX so had to cancel that repair.

I am not @SIW2, but I just downloaded the French version : Windows 11, version 25H2 [26200.9168] (Updated August 2026) :: Select language :: List of files by Microsoft® (Dutch is not in alphabetical order, somewhere after Latvian).
It took me 1 hour and 35 minutes

AFAIK, nothing we do is going to fix it. I tried three repair installs, one from the WU input, and two from the ISO of the version I was running. None of the repairs acted any differently. Obviously, something that the repair install doesn't touch is corrupted, my guess is the registry.

Where do they do quote MS? The Forbes article rehashes a linked Windows Latest article. Which points to a Jen@MSFT posting on Reddit which doesn't mention anything other than please provide feedback to MS.

It is MS corporate policy that only select execs and team leaders are allowed to speak to press, since anything they say can be misconstrued. Jen is one of those who are allowed, but her comments are always very careful.

We're saying MS hasn't commented on the issue.

Sometimes when the proverbial dung hits the fan, eventually a designated Windows EVP, GM, or senior product manager will issue a public mea culpa ("We could have done better"). Things have not reached that stage yet.

Well, I've given up at this point, we shouldn't even have to be going to such lengths to fix a MS bug. They sure don't seem to be in any hurry to address it. It's been posted about on various forums and is in the feedback hub.

Did you look in the logs to see why it failed or what is missing?

Look in CBS and DISM log right after the failure.

Mine was fine until a few updates ago. Then, this issue started as well. I gave up trying to fix it.

I'll be honest, trying to find something in those CBS logs is migraine inducing, I just don't have the patience to dig through them.

Open CBS.log in Notepad and do searches for the following...
