Hello,

I would like to ask if someone had similar problem like mine with WebView2:

Yestarday I reinstalled Windows 11 on my laptop and it seemed everything worked properly.
BUT - after installing all of possible Windows Updates, app updates etc, WebView2 is stuck at version 100.0.1185.36, while Microsoft Edge is already updated to 114.0.1823.43.

I tried everything - forcing update, restarting services, forced to start Edge update tasks from Task Sheduler - nothing works. I even reinstalled my system again, and again from scratch - nothing helps.

What could be the issue here? If someone had similar problem like mine, I would be greatful for all of suggestions.

Greetings.

I have no clue then -- what issues does having the older version warrant?
I can't use newest Lenovo Vantage which requires version >110 if I'm not mistaken.

Also... The weird thing is that WebView2 does not update itself alongside Edge.

I have been doing further research and found this post: How to manually update the WebView2 Runtime? · Issue #3371 · MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Feedback which is something to certainately try.

If you feel you have the right amount of knowledge to understand this: WebView2Feedback/install.md at main · MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Feedback then have a crack at it.

Okey, so I reinstalled my OS once more time (to be 100% sure there's no problem with any files or settings), after 2 days. I decided to install and leave it alone for couple of hours. And this time WebView2 updated itself, some time after Edge update - couple of hours after OS installation.

So the problem is fixed :)

Thank you for help.

Greetings.

I got hit with this issue today. The only workaround is to reinstall Windows and quickly access your Lenovo Vantage dashboard to change the battery conservation settings. Once Edge updates to the latest version of Webview it will start creating havoc should you have Vantage installed/enabled. There is no known fix at this time. Just an FYI.
