I have a hotmail account that gives me 25gb of OneDrive storage. I have used it for over 20 years with two different Gmail Microsoft Accounts.
My emails are Gmail.
My secondary laptop lost its ability to access MP3TAG using right click.
I did a reset and fixed it.
Now I am unable to use Slideshow.
I was pestered to sign in to Onedrive with my current Gmail MA resulting in a minor loss of some data.
If I can use my Hotmail account as MA & OneDrive it would hopefully remedy things
I do backup Onedrive frequently.

When I find it.
As to Windows Media Player or other such program, I right-click a desired file and choose Open with, if the desired program isn't listed I go down the list to fine Choose another program, pick one and then click Always use this program. After that double-clicking the file type should open in that program.

The mention of MP3TAG leaves me out, haven't used it. I don't think it's a simple media player like VLC or Windows Media Player Legacy.

When I find it.
That is a problem when music is Ripped from a CD. The visible files in File Explorer on the disc are .cda and show as 1KB in size but actually are smaller and only pointers to the actual data. Each song will also have the same word after the number rather than the song title. I use WMP for Ripping and use the .mp3 format. It's possible to use .wma but they may not work in all MP3 players. If I have a batch of .wma or .wav files I use VLC to convert them. The .wav files are usually larger than other .wma and .mp3 formats.
