Change Folder Type?

Changing folder types in Win 11 has no effect.

If I right click on a folder, select customize, and select an item from "what kind of folder do you want" and then Apply, nothing seems to happen and it seems to remain set to "general"

Maybe no solution but just a guess, does the folder or folders contain a mix of file types?

No, they just contain photos.
I think the problem is ownership. Although I am an admin, it seems I can't change the attributes of files because I don't own them.

Yep. That's it. I took ownership and now am able to change the folder types.
