I have had a Microsoft account and login for more years than I care to remember. When my wife had her first laptop, I just used my MS login on her laptop. I have now decided to setup her own account and login. Is there anything I should be aware of to also change?
It's probably a silly question but it was so long ago I can't remember the process or if there were any implications. I'm probably over thinking it.

I think it's a very good question and wouldn't mind knowing the answer. I would think one would just need to sign-out and then sign-in with the new account but there could be more to it.

Hello sydh, :alien:

Since this is your wife and you already had an account set up for her using your MS account, you could do this below to not have to start completely over with a new account on the PC.

1) Switch your MS account on the PC to a local account.

2) Switch the now local account to your wife's MS account.

There is also a very handy tool, although it is not free, to easily backup/restore/transfer user profile data between accounts

There is no need to use a Microsoft account to log in to your PC. Use a local account as mentioned by @Brink above. If you use/need the MS account for some other acct usage you can still use it as needed.
