I have tried to fix Chrome being so slow for days to no avail.
Is any one else having the same problem?
What new fixes are there?

Well your best bet is perhaps removing all cache. Simple enough fix;
  1. At the top right, click More .
  2. Click More tools. Clear browsing data.
  3. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  4. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  5. Click Clear data.
There have been cases of 100+ gb cache found, slowing down the computer heaps.

I spoke too soon. I tried what you said and other 'chrome being slow other fixes'. I ran a/v and rebooted. Chrome shivers for about 4 seconds then lands.
It is erratic.
Has there been reports of this happening? I see some on line but they are dated with no fix or one that does not work. I have reinstalled and rebooted. Edge is lightening fast but I am used to Chome.

Have you deleted all extensions?

If you want, you can use hardware acceleration see if that works. Go to settings, advanced and it should be there.

And the end of the day, edge allows the use of ANY chrome extension and runs on the chromium engine, so you can make Google the default engine, sign in with a google account and more. So I would make the switch, it uses a LOT less ram aswell. If it is too different for you, try downloading chromium, which is basically a stripped down chrome
