Clipboard problems

I've tried to download some of the clipboard manager apps but for two of them Windows 11 blocks the download, for one it won't let it be installed and one that got installed, "Ditto", won't run on my computer with Windows 11. CopyQ 7.0.0 was recommended on a Google search but it can't be installed. Clip Clip was another that Windows won't let me run.

How do I get a good free clipboard manager so I can save my clips? The built-in manager has storage for 25 clips but they are not permanent. When I reboot the computer all the clips are gone.

You should be able to install it. Tested from CopyQ

You have to go through some hoops though. On Edge hover over the download and select the three dots to the right and allow.





As long as you trust the site you're downloading from.

I got past two warning screens and let CopyQ install, but when I click on the desktop icon nothing happens. It doesn't open any window so I can address settings and see what's happening. Now what?

Yes. Just tested it. Won't run in compatibility mode either. So I used Geek Uninstaller (free) to remove it and deleted the installer. You will have to look for another alternative for Windows 11 if there is one.

Downloaded and installed ClipClip. Takes a while for the .exe installer to run but works ok.







ClipClip saves to Documents folder by default.

Thanks Fabler2. ClipClip installed just fine. It's got as many settings as Outlook but hopefully it will be easy to use by default. And thanks too for Geek uninstaller. Nice tool to have.

After trying to use it for a while I've been unable to figure ClipClip out. There is a big user manual but it doesn't give any basics, just elaborate features discussed in length. It's running in parallel with Windows built-in clipboard so all I've used is the normal Control+V to paste.

When I wanted to bring up clips older than what's in the built-in I thought "Contol+Shift+~" would work but it doesn't so I don't know how to access what ever clips are in ClipClip. I found two videos on Youtube devoted to ClipClip but neither one has a thing to say about the basic mechanics of using it. Can anyone point me to a source that might have basic information on this program?
