Hi folks
If you want full GUI access to a remote Linux VM FROM Windows 11 using RDP - alot of distros have broken this facility
However OPENSUSE TUMBLEWEED makes it simple -- and you can run multiple sessions without messing around with port forwarding etc etc. Caveat -- you need to set the option on the Linux system for X11 (Plasma-X11) as wayland doesn't (yet) work. Other GUI's e.g GNOME might work but I like KDE !!!! and it's the one that's hardest to RDP to FROM Windows !!!!
On opensuse sudo zypper install xrdp, sudo systemctl enable xrdp systemctl start xrdp
This has all the bits needed for Windows 11 connect without needing any vnc servers installed either on Windows or the linux systems -- at the rdp on Windows and at the Linux XRDP login screen choose xorg for the dropdown and username / password.
Here's 2 test NAS systems both running KDE desktop ----

cheers
