Greetings,

I just had a strange issue in Windows. I was working with the following applications:
-Studio One 6
-Oblique Audio RTL Utility

I was running some tests to check the round-trip latency for my audio interface. I created a shortcut for the RTL Utility executable, and was unable to change the shortcut name. I then attempted to change the names of some files, folders, and a drive; and was unable to change the name(s).

When I clicked on the file/folder, it wouldn't go into name edit mode. Also, couldn't edit using the icon at the bottom of the right click menu, or the full right click menu.

I restarted Explorer. That didn't work. Restarted the machine, and the problem went away. I have been unable to recreate the issue. After restart, I ran dism /online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and it returned: No component store corruption detected.

Perhaps it was just a momentary glitch, but I have never seen this before. Has anybody come across this? If so, is a restart the only way to make it go away? Any advice will be most appreciated.

I believe what im reading is basically the icon was attached to a process and restarting was the only way for you to do what you needed. I would say, Yes, restarting would end studio one and other program/s and the tie from the icon to the apps is freed making it usable as how you needed. This happens to me sometimes.

Thanks, iman,

Just to be sure I was clear, the files and folders I attempted to rename, after the shortcut associated with RTL Utility, were all random and not associated with either Studio One or RTL utility.

Glad to know that this happens to others as well.
