Copy files or folder on desktop

In Windows 11, when any file or even folder (no loss) is found on the desktop, the file\folder moves automatically in a grid (grid) across the desktop.
I need the file to be copied on the desktop to where my mouse arrow is, that is, not to be moved. When cutting (cutting) a file\folder, the file\folder moves exactly where the mouse arrow is on the desktop - as it should be. In Windows 10, there are no such problems, the file is copied to the desktop, where the mouse arrow is. How can I not know?

Wouldn't hurt to rebuild your icon cache Rebuild Icon Cache in Windows 11 Tutorial
Also try adding an icon and put it where you want it, then hit f5.
To be sure check for file system corruption. From administrative cmd prompt type sfc /scannow

Try a different user account. I always keep a second aministrative account for just such troubleshooting purposes. If the trouble doesn't follow, it would not be a windows problem but a corrupted user acccount.

CREATE NEW LOCAL ACCOUNT

Select Start > Settings > Accounts and then select Family & other users.

  1. Next to Add other user, select Add account.
  2. Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  3. Enter a user name, password, and password hint—or choose security questions—and then select Next.

Then change the new local user account to an administrator account
Select Start > Settings > Accounts .

  1. Under Family & other users, select the account owner name you just created (you should see "Local account" below the name), then select Change account type.
Under Account type, select Administrator, and then select OK.
  2. Sign out of your old account and sign into the new account.
  3. If the new account works correctly, log back into your old account COPY and PASTE your important files from your old user account to flash drive or external hard drive.NOTE-you must copy and paste to avoid permission problems.
4.. Log into your new acount. COPY and PASTE the files you saved from the external media into your new account.
5. Once everything is correct and files are in new account, delete the old account.
6. If you use a MS account, once old account is deleted you can change your new account to a MS account.

I checked only on installed Windows 11 versions 22000.1281, 22623.1020, 25252.1000 the same thing. I think this is Microsoft's idea.

The only way it will copy to correct position is by drag and drop. Any other way Windows places them in the next logical position from the left

Yes, you are absolutely right. I think, there are no alternative solutions.
