Solved Crash then re-boot on Windows 11

I see you're running AMD video drivers. Disable hardware acceleration on EVERYTHING you have running in the background. Chrome, Edge, Discord, Steam (all launchers), ANYTHING. This is a known issue and has recently resurfaced with the latest AMD drivers.

Hi, yes. I'm running the latest bios version 4201. So it could be this GPUs graphic drivers? Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC 16GB, I'm running version 22.11.1

its probably the AV or the gfx driver.. or both...

I'm only using Norton 360 for Gamers on this system.

I never liked Norton.. I just use the MS Windows Defender AV/Anti-malware..
works fine for me...

Disabled hardware acceleration in Edge and Steam, hopefully that will work.
 
Look in Event Viewer>Administrative Events in there look for dates and time when this happened and for critical and errors.
Know had Event critical of Kernel-Power 41 (63) before.

This error can happen from PC not cleanly shutting down and even when you get a freeze have to restart it manually.
Kernel- power event 41 doesn't always mean power issue (psu).

Need to see what else is throwing an error besides kernel 41. Ask yourself when first started happening was any changes made to system drivers, hardware....etc..

I think I only have it in Steam and Edge, Will have to disable in Brave and Opera once I install it. Hopefully it'll be fixed with AMD new display drivers.

UPDATE - Will give it till the start of the new year, if no problems will mark as solved. It's looking great up to now no problems.

Hi, seems you was right, had no problems since. This issue seems to be resolved. Thanks to all who helped.
 
When you talk about the mouse pointer freezing, do you actually see the mouse pointer, or is this a blank screen with the monitor backlight lit.

There is a new bug where it locks up with a blank screen, but the backlight remains lit. An infamous Windows 11 issue.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this is related to a new bug, introduced with Windows 11, where selecting a high refresh rate, causes black/blank screen. This reminds me of a problem I saw with 11 21H2, (the old 11) where changing the refresh rate, randomly causes a black/blank screen freeze. In the case of 21H2, IIRC, it happened right when I was changing the refresh rate. But I didn't see that occur when changing the refresh rate with 22H2. It seems random.
