Hi HotEmons,

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run: (some of these currently require a Ten Forums logon)

a) Tuneup_plus_log.bat ─ Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

Is that script available for users who haven't got a TenForums account? If it isn't, then the user shouldn't have to register at technically a different forum, in order to follow some instructions.

I suspect that the user is plugging in a USB device whose driver is not providing a correct hardware ID.

There is no reason they should not register on Ten Forums.
That is a pretty broad assumption "you" make about "other" users choices. Many people wont want to do a registration chain (register there so you can get a tool, or register here to get directed there, to get directed elsewhere).

You should not make assumptions about me or others, just like i should not assume about you :)

You have just made the assumption that I made an assumption.
Whether assumptions should be made is another issue.

There absolutely is, This is a forum for Windows 11. Not 10, 8 or 7.
I understand some of the resources are still over there and thats why sometimes people get directed to there for the files etc. But they shouldn't need to register. All of these files etc should be moved to ElevenForum as well.
That'd be like buying a Lamborghini and calling audi for support.

It is a fact that they need to register before the files have been moved to Eleven Forum as long as they need help from the BSOD analysts.

@zbook goes through a lot of the BSOD stuff on here and i've seen a few others as well. I know they NEED to register if they want the files, but they shouldn't HAVE to. They should be here also.

Those who supply the service are entitled to make the rules. If you don't like or dont agree with it then search the whole Internet --there's an entire planet out there.

Would you go into TESCO for example and say they have to sell a MORRISON'S or SAINSBURY'S Own branded product --.

Cheers

Is it in the forum rules that you must register at TenForums to ask for BSOD help? I also dont think its in the rules that you need to take the resources from there, Ofc most would because realistically it takes 3 minutes to make an account and if those resources help then winner. I just dont think you should HAVE to do either. Otherwise whats the point in this BSOD section

I just think you should express your opinions to an administrator, who has the right to move files onto Eleven Forum.

Oh i personally don't care, I have accounts on all of the sites here. Not a biggie to me at all. Just can imagine someone who has a win 11 computer and no previous accounts coming over and posting in our BSOD section for you to tell them not to post in it and go post it in a windows 10 forum sounds silly dont you think. The resources being there are one thing, Telling them not to use the BSOD section that is made here for a reason...is another.

We can't just move stuff across, these are completely different sites and not connected in any way, the resource section here would be the ideal place for that sort of files if the authors would like to add them.

Ya, i imagine its not easy to get site a to read registrations from site b, c, or d. I wouldn't want to try to set that up myself, sounds like a frustratingly good time heh
