Yesterday uninstalled: Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, and all Razer programs. Woke up to BSOD this AM. I've noticed that most of teh BSOD screens happen when I have been absent from the PC for a while, and many times I wake up to it, so wondering if there is an issue with PC waking up after not being used for awhile?

b) Record test duration and post the uninterrupted test duration into the thread

c) Aim for testing > 3 hrs and abort testing as needed for freezing, temperature changes (see link)

4) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

Hi zbook! I already have some of these programs. With HWMonitor, am I supposed to leave it running all the time to monitor? Oh, now I see that I use it to monitor the 95 program. So, when watching the temp, what temp would be considered "dangerous" so that I have to shut 95 down?

Please optimize the cooling.

Reapply thermal paste as needed.

UPDATE: Installed my new CPU fan, and also discovered there is a computer repair living a block away from me here, so he came over and cleaned all sorts of stuff out of my PC, and I haven't had a crash since, and CPU temps are staying in the normal range :)!

And, a HUGE THANK YOU to zbook, for working so hard to advise me of what steps to take, and exactly how to take them.

The V2 logs were from 11/19.

The last reported BSOD and unexpected shutdown and restart was on 11/13.

Please ask the technician if only the fan and cleaning were performed.
Ask if it was predominantly inadequate cooling or another issue.
And ask if overclocks or c-states were modified.

These are optional:

a) The computer does not produce Windows Error reporting (WER).
WER are useful when looking at current or prior computer problems.
They report the BSODs and live kernel events.
To troubleshoot > open a new EF thread

b) SecureBoot : Not Enabled
The log files suggest updating secure boot.
There are multiple EF threads on this topic.

Hi zbook! The technician did all while I sat beside him, and he cleaned the CPU, added the paste, and installed the new fan. I had never overclocked, so there wasn't any change there, and he felt that the sporadic overheating was probably the culprit. He also cleaned a lot of stuff in his normal manner, telling me that doing his "clean up" routine would regularly solve many problems without him having to chase down any particular one. He changed one setting that had to do with letting the hard drive "sleep", and said that this had solved lots of folks probs because it is an ongoing MS snafu. The BSOD's seemed to hit mainly when I had been away from the PC for a while, and not while I was active.
I will work on the WER and Secure Boot settings :).

Hi zbook - according to services.msc and msinfo32, both WER and Secure Boot are now on/enabled. For Secure Boot - OS type was set to "Other" so I switched it back to Windows EUFI, and WER just required two clicks to get it to AUTO(DelayedStart).
