Desk mat material?

I’m looking to buy a large desk mat. But one that I like has the word “felt” in the description and I don’t know if would cause static electricity or cause any problems for use around a computer.

Regardless of whether it's static-prone, felt isn't easy to wipe clean. That's why all the gaming pads are made of synthetic material.

Hopefully it's the anti-static felt, like DJs use on turntables. You can hand wash it, like in a bucket with some laundry soap; then let it air dry. I wouldn't put it in a washing machine.

Have a piece of glass cut to the size of the desktop. No static, EZ to clean, never wears out and looks great

My desktop is black glass. I’d like a softer surface that doesn’t show finger prints and stuff.

If you have PC shop nearby that sells "PC gaming" gear then see if the larger deskpads have the right material. There's two kinds, one is just a supersized mouse pad and another is a thin rigid plastic sheet that doesn't flex.
