Desktop icons flashing

I notice that every once in a while, my desktop icons will flash to all white then back to color. What could be the reason for this and what can I do to stop it?

You system specs say “Dell” no model or system info.

I’d lean toward saying that this is not uncommon. Not sure about the “White” part though?

What’s the graphics card (GPU)?
Does the GPU need a driver update?
