@Fabler2 I have checked all of them! I used to make windows default view as List.

@Try3 I have searched those websites, but no solution.

Hi,
Yep full row select is one of the dumbest item ms has ever done, well up there in the top 5 anyway

I asked @Brink and this is what he had to say about it

It appears disabling Full Row Select no longer works since Windows 10 Creators Update along with Auto Arrange.
Only thing I've found was this which does not work either.

Hi,
Ultimate windows tweaker has the feature but doesn't work on list view which is what I use on large movies drives
I've fond out the clicking off space between listing increases with dpi increases so guess that is as good as it going to get 125% not 100 recommended freaking MS
Thank you

Hi,
I didn't know he removed it
It just doesn't work on list view anymore where it's mostly needed/ wanted.

The real evil feature is point to select

In linux this isn't a problem because if set to single click to open items linux does not use point to select, it simply shows a underline on the item which is a soft select meaning if you move pointer off page.. the underline disappears off the item it was last on.

So see if either of the below works they did not for me all either did was add a underline to the point to select acted the same.
Yeah, you can currently only select Underline icon titles consistent with my browser or Underline icon titles only when I point at them with Single-click.

@ThrashZone Exactly! I have set all folder types view as List (I never use Details, Thumbnails …). IMO the most disastrous part is when you need right click on free space (if I have many files in a folder), it drives me nuts!

I am a Single-Click mode user. The other problem in Single-click mode is that Ctrl+Double Click on a folder does not work in this mode!

@Edwin Windows Vista or 7?! I have never been a Vista user, but in Win 7, I had no issue!

That's on W10, with QTTabBar..., I can't remember how it was on W7!

Same, and I use 'Check boxes to select items' so there's no space for right click in List View! 🤷‍♂️
