Solved Disk errors in event viewer + freezing of computer for a few seconds


Check Reliability History for entries,especially covering the freeze time.
To access the tool,start typing ---reliability ---in the Search box.
If there are any in the Critical Events line,then select that line and RIGHT click on the ---view tech details ---then click on the new box ---view tech details ---and this should give a Report Sent page and the first few lines will give the cause of the problem.

Ohhh I did not know that existed, thats quite cool to know!

It is saying it is due to hardware just like the event viewer did, so nothing too new, but still quite useful to know. Thank you for this insight!

For the mean time I will look out for more crashes just to see if those power plan edits affected anything, and I will update this thread on that + when I finally get my f3 recovery done!

As for red flags or errors I believe I mostly just saw KILLER application crashing but specifically for these freezes it says something along the lines of hardware doing something...

It actually gets hilarious on some motherboards, especially late-legacy-BIOS motherboards, where single-drive AHCI, is literally called "RAID" in the BIOS setup program!
And not selecting "RAID", literally puts it in PATA-emulation-mode, IIRC.

PATA-emulation-mode is to make it look like a PATA drive to Windows, so Windows versions older than Vista, will find the drive, so Windows XP won't crash, because of drive controller being unknown.
Otherwise, Windows XP crashes with the stop error code that became the meme of Windows XP:
0x0000007B

AHCI= Advanced Host Controller Interface (IIRC)
A standard for SATA.

Yeah it is honestly odd 😭 I did not know there was ever a difference but it seems so weird to me that MSI would put a single drive on RAID as default

I remember those days but I highly doubt this is our friend's issue. I believe most PCs today have to be set to RAID if RAID is in fact the intended use. IF the OS was installed when in RAID mode and that changes in the BIOS you will most certainly get errors if RAID isn't activated. Now with IRST there is a way to convert AHCI to RAID without having to completely reinstall the OS. Attempts to boot to the OS when the BIOS is altered will culminate in errors. In certain instances you may even manage to boot to the operating system but it will be buggy. I'm not saying that this is what has happened here but it's one more possibility. Anyway, I can't work with someone who won't or can't follow instructions.

That is completely fair, I won't hold it against you! I do want to apologise though and still thank you for all your efforts up to this point, and I hope you know I really do appreciate everything that you have done so far 💞

I'm not gonna lie because I do not get a lot of the stuff that is being said here, but I think it might be best for me to leave this as it is for now. I will keep an eye on these crashes and still perform the reset like you asked me to, it is just at the moment I am unable to!
