I'm following this post on creating a Windows 11 vhdx. However, on the part where you "list volume" in diskpart, the only volume (or disks for that matter) that show up is the external USB volume that I am booting from and doesn't list the internal SSD volumes, to which I want to create the vhdx on.

Any ideas?

Here's a diskpart list while booted into the Hyper-V Host:

And here is disk management view: Host_Data F: is the destination volume I want to create the vhdx on.

Now on the same machine when booting from the installation media usb, diskpart list volume only has 1 result, which is the one listed as vol 6 in the above screenshot (thought I took a pic of this but I guess not, but it would just show a single volume, the usb volume itself.).

Some computers require the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver to be installed to detect their internal drives. When booting from the Windows installation USB flash drive, the IRST driver will not be installed.

Yep, very common on pcd with nvme drives or optane memory drives - I always add the IRST driver to the WinPe boot.wim file using dism.

Ok, that makes sense.

I just found Hyper-V manager has a Quick Create VM option that includes a Win 11 Enterprise option that I can use.
