I don't run DISM after windows updates. As a general rule I don't run DISM at all on any kind of schedule.
If I am experiencing issues I will run:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealthfollowed by
sfc /scannow I will also run those commands before a version upgrade.

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanupfirst checks the integrity of windows resources and repairs if needed
second checks the component store for corruption and repairs any
third thirds analyzes the component store and removes any components that are not needed

Running DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup typically displays: The operation completed successfully.
This result is missing information about whether anything was or was not accomplished in running the command.
Running both commands is useful to view the before and after analysis.
Then it's possible to see if there was or was not a significant change.
For example
DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore may display: Component Store Cleanup Recommended : Yes
DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup may display: The operation completed successfully.
The user after viewing the results (The operation completed successfully.) may improperly conclude that the size of the component store was reduced
The AnalyzeComponentStore was run before and after.
There was no change in the GB size using two decimal places..
Before:
