I have a total of six machines here that all run Windows 11, most are Pro, but one is Home. This machine is the only one that gets the DISM error, it started happening after the June update that was suppose to fix these! 🤣

I also encountered error 0x800f0915 with the June 9 update, KB5094126.

I don't know exactly what updated started it (i.e. I wasn't running DISM commands after every update) but you're probably right. When I did notice it, and started seeing this posts, I restored a backup from a few months ago and it was fine (again). The minute it went through updates again, the issue returned.

The Windows Update error 0x800f0915 paired with KB5094126 is a known servicing stack conflict where the component store is missing a repair source or has a version mismatch. Essentially, a bug introduced in the preceding May preview updates broke the DISM engine's ability to pull files online, creating a deadlock when trying to apply the June 9 cumulative update

Well, that flies in the fact of the fact that I've tried multiple times to run DISM using an ISO image and it still gets the same error. This has happened since the June update and there doesn't seem to be any way to repair it.

That command does not scan any files.

All it does is looks for existing flags or registry entries showing that Windows was previously marked as corrupted.

To actually scan the Windows component store files for coruption you need to run the scanhealth command.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

or

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth also does not change any files, it only reports on the issues after checking the actual component store. The difference between that and /CheckHealth is that /CheckHealth just looks at the pre-set condition flags for the health, it doesn't actually check the whole component store.

Running Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth should NOT change the component store other than setting the condition flags for the component store.

I'll note down Repair-WindowsImage -Online -ScanHealt in the text file, but I'll only use it once I see from user reports that error 0x800f0915 has been resolved.

The error hasn't reappeared since I ran `RestoreHealth`. For now, I'm just running the two specified PowerShell commands.

I will try ScanHealth after I have made a recent computer backup.

It is restorehealth that has been having the 0x800f0915 error not scanhealth.
