Laptops are the best option for college IMO. I wish we had them when I was in college. But I went in the early 80's.

When I was in school the pocket calculator was a big thing. We weren't allowed to use them though.

If GPU's ever come back down to reason I'd like to upgrade my 2070 to 3080 or by that time 4070 will probably come out. Or whatever Nvidia calls the next gen GPU.

The scroll is not on my post. The scroll is on the thread. I went with the HP Envy x360 convertible 15-ds1083cl 15.6" 2-in1 laptop computer refurbished. It's an in store only purchase. The closet Micro Center store to me is in St. Davids Pa. That's the website I found it on. it might be available on other Micro Center local sites. I doubt you will find it on the main Micro Center online site because it's a in store only purchase.

Unless you are continuously benchmarking your laptop, (which is a sort of sport for some, which is fine), I doubt you wold be able to tell processors apart just from using Windows, you would see a difference in performance between your old and new laptops which is a good thing ...
Just enjoy it :-)

My new HP laptop is partially setup. I have setup my MS account and installed Macrium Reflect 8 and made an image. Now I'm going to join it to the Insider ring and update to the Dev build of Windows 11. I'll install my other programs after upgrading to Windows 11.

Well.,. I've been giving the upgrade some thought and I would love to get a dedicated GPU/Graphic card.. a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Price wise it's not to bad/expensive and it would be a huge upgrade to my rig. The current Vega 8 is ok but the 1050 Ti is about 200% better. I want to get it in Feb.

Thanks.. but yeah.. the shipping would be outrageous. With my increase in SS and tax return next year I should be able to get one with no issues. Due to inflation I should get around a 6.2% increase in SS.

Searching the web I found that if nothing changes the average raise should be about $77.00. We should know for sure in October.

yes. nothing to do with Win11 though. possibly newer gpu and newer case and better cooler. not have set timetable yet.
