Well.. I do. I was planning on getting a better processor and a dedicated GPU/Graphic Card sometime with the new specs for Windows 11 it just motivates me to get it sooner.

Current Processor - AMD Ryzen 3 2200G

My upgrade plan:

Ryzen 5 3600 6 core/12 thread or Ryzen 5 2600 6 core/12 thread
ASUS GeForce GT 1030

Since I use Photoshop a dedicated GPU will help it out and I can get that first and later on this year I can get the 3600. I hope to get the GPU in Sept and the CPU in Dec or Feb..

I have a Surface Laptop which will upgrade to Win 11. My desktop will remain a reliable workhorse for some time to come and who knows, it may even upgrade if the rules are relaxed.

I need a new video card - but that is neither here nor there. I'd already have one if it wasn't for the scalpers and miners.

The only other thing I need replaced are my ancient 1080p monitors - and I have a pair of 4K monitors already pre-ordered, so I'm good there.

I can, in the future, upgrade my 3950X to a 5950X, to save money (128 GB RAM is NOT cheap), but the difference in performance between the two versus the price of the new CPU (currently) is not justifiable for me.

I'd need to get a new laptop as this one doesn't have enough room on the C: drive to install 11. Mind you I bought this HP Envy in late December 2017 so I think I deserve to treat myself to a new one.

I'd probably keep my Asus as it is just for my online banking and accounts, this HP could carry on with 10 and the programs I use for the time being. A new machine would have 11 installed and just used with that, plus a few programs, till I was used to it and it was over its teething problems I could then start adding my favourite programs.

Yes, however was planning to upgrade anyway, something I have meant to do for some time, just brought it forward before prices start getting silly due to shortages possibly created by Win11 panic.

Currently Ryzen 5 1600, arriving Monday Ryzen 7 3800X, as this is my Insider PC it will be getting Win11 whenever we get access to it legally!

The other 2 PCs which are total fails both on CPU age and no TPM can stay on Win10, would like a better GPU however what I've got still works well so that can wait until there is actually some stock that isn't at silly prices.

My guess at an upgrade cost is $1000 or more -- as that is what it would cost me to replace the motherboard, processor, and memory with components that are more than just minimal.

My answer is NO because I have been using the leaked version, which works just fine on my present hardware, and to me, that is way too much money to spend for what appears to be little more than a new UI and colorful icons.

I think all of my computers will run Windows 11. My two desktops pass the PC Health Check and the WhyNotWin 11 test. My Laptop fails the PC Health Check and gets a ! mark for the CPU compatibility test. For me my plan is to make my Macrium Image and upgrade my main PC to Win 11. Next will either be my old PC or try to upgrade my laptop. I'm thinking I will do my laptop next to see if it will upgrade.

Edit: I forgot to add that I just bought a new desktop before the news of Windows 11 so I don't need to spend anymore money on new hardware.

When Intel wake up again like they did after the P4 NetBurst ballsup and came out with the C2D based of the far superior P3 architecture, so 2022/23 at earliest.

I used to upgrade each new Gen Mobo/CPU but gave up as was a waste of time/money for no real gain.

Not for a while. Want to see how Intel fares with 10nm or less and how AMD does. 10 core 5.1 GHz is plenty for me now.

Eventually -- but I'd suggest now is the worst possible moment to upgrade anything other than SSD / NVME capacity. Just wait until there's a much better idea of what W11 really needs in practice. Currently it's all speculation - seems also pointless to spend $$$'s on new hardware if it doesn't do the job a few months down the line.

I personally think this is the wrong time to announce a new system with new equipment needed to update our computers with the shortage of chips memory processors and graphic cards. This is causing price hikes beyond a lot of peoples pockets also the shortages of materials is going to take some time to get back to normal.
