Do You Sign In To Firefox To Sync With Other Devices?

I have a few computers and a phone that all have Firefox installed as my main browser.

Years ago, I decided to sign in to Firefox on my desktop to sync it with my laptop. But something went wrong, and it synced the wrong way, and I lost numerous Bookmarks. Also, some settings synced the wrong way other than what I intended to happen. These days, I also have a phone with Firefox as my main browser. I haven't yet signed in to Firefox on any of these devices for fear of more problems. What makes things more confusing is that I have two Mozilla accounts, but I don't know what data is on either account.

Do you have any thoughts, ideas or suggestions on syncing Firefox across multiple devices?

If you can sign into both accounts, you can sync both accounts. You should then be able to delete one of the accounts.

How to Combine Data from Two Accounts
    • Open your first account: Start Firefox and sign in to your first Mozilla account to download all of its synced data (bookmarks, passwords, and history) onto your local computer. [1, 2]
    • Switch accounts: Log out of that account in Firefox settings. [1]
    • Merge local data: Sign in to your second Mozilla account. When prompted, choose to merge the local data with the data coming from the second account's sync server. [1, 2, 3]
    • Allow sync to finish: Wait for Firefox to fully upload the combined dataset back to the second account's cloud storage. [1]
    • Delete the old account: Once everything is safely combined into one account, you can delete the extra account you no longer need. [1]
