"Don't ask again on this device"

Hi everyone,

I recently logged into Google in Edge with a security key (Yubikey) and selected "Don't ask again on this device".

I wasn't really thinking about it at the time, and I would like to resume using my security key in Edge when logging in to Google. Is there any way to do this?

If you delete your cookie, it will revert to asking again

Option 1 — Remove the trusted device​

This is the method that works for most people.

1. Go to Google Account Security
2. Scroll to “Your devices” → Manage all devices
3. Find the device you were using (your PC running Edge)
4. Select it → Sign out
5. Restart Edge and sign in again — Google will prompt for your YubiKey

This works because “Don’t ask again” essentially marks that browser session as trusted.

Option 2 — Remove trusted browsers from 2‑Step Verification​

If the above doesn’t work:

1. Open 2‑Step Verification settings
2. Scroll down to “Devices you trust”
3. Click “Revoke all” or remove the specific device
4. Log in again in Edge — you’ll be asked for your YubiKey

Option 3 — Clear Edge’s Google cookies​

This forces Google to treat the browser as new.

1. In Edge: Settings → Cookies and site data
2. Search for accounts.google.com and google.com
3. Delete cookies for those domains
4. Sign in again → YubiKey prompt returns
