After installing the latest Intel DCH gpu driver (Intel's Display Installer app) for my Acer a515-54G I found 12 old duplicate drivers that I deleted with RAPR. Some that I was not sure of (attached) I did not delete yet (oem 11, 13 and oem 31) but I am getting Event error 7011: "A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the igfxCUIService" and a 2 seconds BSOD during saving a link with Edge. I have 2 igfxCUIService drivers running (2019 and 2022) according to Device Mngr (attached) and wonder if I should delete the old (2019) one?
I have no issues, no event errors other than an Info event about that DAL driver (oem 31) that I am inclined to uninstall and delete.
I posted these questions also on the Intel forum but did not get a reply yet (cannot even find my post).
Thanks
Frank

From my understanding, and testing on my system, Intel maintains two versions of the display drivers, one in current use and the second for rollback purposes.
Unless you are very tight for space it might be worth just leaving the older version alone, so that should you develop an issue with the update you can rollback (using Device Manager) easily.
As to why you suddenly have these issues it is possible the most up to date drivers are not quite 'polished' yet. ;-)

It would help if the Intel sites were consistent in saying what latest official releases were, but it gets more complicated as my laptop sometimes decides to use native Intel drivers and sometimes ASUS modified versions. There is no consistency. Only problem I have is the video drivers are 1.5GB each and start taking up a lot of space if not deleted regularly.

Frankly, it is all a bit of a mess - even worse on Insider versions which often install latest beta versions.

I end up blocking updates for Intel drivers using WIShowHide.

If the installation is unsuccessful with the .exe file.... I used the Intel exe driver file and selected "Clean Install" but it still skipped many old duplicate drivers. Also used DDU in Safe Mode and RAPR, some of these older dupicate drivers are loaded and can only be forced deleted by RAPR or by pnputil /delete-driver command.

I will leave it like it is then, not getting the 7011 error or BSOD anymore, I remember from before that the 3rd party driver store is always messy, why some of these old drivers are loaded at boot (according to Device Manager) is a mystery...

You could also use Autoruns from Sysinternals (available from MS store) part of a free suite of Windows utilities.
Autoruns allows you to see all drivers, services, tasks etc and you can stop them loading with a simple check box (best to run as admin), then reboot and delete the ones you want to get rid of as they will no longer be in use (over simplified version as there can be multiple services, drivers to disable first).
Re enabling is as simple as uncheck the box and reboot (assuming you didn't delete the items).

Of course, make sure any drivers you disable are not boot critical.

Used in conjunction with RAPR, Process Explorer (also part of the Sysinternals suite) and Windows built in tools you would have some very powerful, and dangerous, system modification tools available.

As most regular users of these forums will advise, make regular full system images before messing with possible system critical files. Macrium Reflect is popular and there are several very well written guides on it's use in the tutorials section.

From my understanding, and testing on my system, Intel maintains two versions of the display drivers, one in current use and the second for rollback purposes.
Unless you are very tight for space it might be worth just leaving the older version alone, so that should you develop an issue with the update you can rollback (using Device Manager) easily.
As to why you suddenly have these issues it is possible the most up to date drivers are not quite 'polished' yet. ;-)
I kept getting these igfxCUIService 7011 errors and found the culprit: The Intel Graphics Display control panel is not Windows10-11 compatible, you have to install the version from the Windows Store. I uninstalled the Intel control panel, deleted all the igfxCUIService.inf drivers (including 2022) and no more 7011 errors (that gpu Control panel is useless anyway). The bad thing is that Windows 11 flipped back to the old Acer VGA driver from 2019, possibly because oem0 is the first gpu driver in the store. I "Updated" the driver with Intel's 2022 gpu driver in Event Manager, properties and hope it will stay active, if Windows flips back to oem0 I will have to delete the old Acer VGA driver.

Intel's Display Driver Install app is chaotic (poorly written), skips duplicate drivers and installs a non-compatible display control panel (no option to reject that). I ended up with the old ACER VGA driver installed again. had a similar experience with Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer.exe years ago with W10, left my Driver Store in a total mess. The best way to install is do it manually with DDU, RAPR, pnputil /delete-driver and dism /online /get-drivers /format:table all in Safe Mode. Check the drivers with Device Manager: View Drivers by Device and expand the device to see the active drivers. Check Event errors and Info after restart for driver issues. Check Problem Reports for booting issues. Took me a day but I am OK now.

I found a new device: "Microsoft Streaming Service proxy" in Device Manager under Sound Video and Game Controllers with a yellow warning (no or corrupted driver) I have no idea when this was installed, suspect the August 25 update, how to get the driver (tried update, nothing)? I uninstalled the device yesterday but it came back today together with an old Intel VGA driver that I had deleted. Also my display switched back to the ACER VGA driver set again so I had to update that to my new 2022 Intel driver. maybe this "Microsoft Streaming Service proxy" has something to do with the new Intel gpu bundle. I disabled the device, may decide to roll back my display driver to Acers VGA bundle if Intel keeps installing 2019 gpu drivers.
Update (Sept. 7):
When reading old MS articles it looks like Office 2013 (aka 365) may have installed that device, I had the Office 15 auto update task actively running, now disabled the update task. I found an app in Control Panel to block automatic driver installing (see attached), will see if that works after removing that annoying driver.

Re-install your Sound drivers!...
Intel sound drivers are part of the GPU bundle, I am not yet ready to reinstall the Intel Display drivers again, Realtek sound drivers are a pain to reinstall to get that working properly but I may try that, Looks like I may have solved the issue with Brink's reg script: Brink's .reg script post
