Just a day ago finally started running Windows 11 doing a completely new install.
As a result, I am reloading everything (Super happy with the new install). I've' been using a very old MS Office 2007. Can't recall how many times I wanted to upgrade to the latest Office that wasn't subscription based.

The E-mail client was the old outlook express that I liked.
I have reloaded Office 2007 but think a better newer E-mail client is in order. For some time, I have used a supplied client from my internet provider called SmarterMail and about the only feature I like on it is the ability to block the sender of an incoming E-mail.

Thinking a seriously about the New Outlook, the wife has Thunderbird (not sure what version) and while ok I'm not a fan.

Any suggestion?

I am a very happy user of eM-Client 10.
That is available as freeware (for max. one mailaccount) or as payed software (for multiple mailaccounts on one PC).
Prize is about 40 Euro for (personal) single user.

The app has a very similar UI as once Outlook Express had, but with much more possible settings.

Before that I used Thunderbird on my PC and my wife used Windows Live Mail. Thunderbird I heavily modified by all kinds of extensions, but never did get it the way Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail did (which my wife does prefer). So when Windows Live mail stopped I decided to test and eventually buy two (personal) packages of eM-Client 8, that I later updated to 10.

eM Client is another email client but I believe the free version has limitations. It would depend on your needs whether or not the free version offers enough features for you. AFIK Thunderbird is the only full featured free mail app and it's because it is so actively supported by the Mozilla group.

Many of us here purchased newer versions of MS Office for deep discounts from Stack Social. You can get Office 2021 lifetime license for $50 which includes Outlook.(you get an extra 15% off first order.) Sometime it's even cheaper than that. If you go that route, be sure to completely uninstall Office 2007 using the Office 2007 scrub tool before installing 2021, as well as the Ofc365 app .

glasskuter looked at that link for Stack Social that's pretty cheap. My next question was do you get the boxed version or just a USB in the mail.
I thought perhaps that was some sort of scam, but you post that many users here have purchased them.

Neither. You get a product key in the mail with a link where to download it. You enter the product key during download.
One thing, though. This version of office has to register to a MS account. Do you have one.

I will soon. That's one feature of me having my retail box with the software. I can at any time reload the software.

Something else, the default save location in apps like Word and Excel is Onedrive. If you get it, and do not use Onedrive, let me know and I will tell you how to change this to your system drive.

I have been trying out various Email Client applications over the last 6-9 months criteria are separation of multiple Email accounts (6) and capable of modern protocols, ease of setup, logical layout, useability and so forth.

Some of those factors need long term use to assess objectively. So that is what seemed sensible to do.

I look forward, not back to outdated not very good ones.
Used Outlook Express for a long time 20+ years ago, but it was very poor with multiple Email Accounts and out of date Email protocols. WLM was not compatible with IMAP on a couple of my accounts so not good.

EM client no good only 2 for free, and multiple accounts cost too much, non starter.

Currently using New Outlook and Thunderbird(140.2.0esr) with longer term testing.

One that was rejected early on was BlueMail with it's phone roots very poor layout and useability on a Laptop/Desktop. There were a number of others with similar problems.

I liked New Outlook, sadly it lasted only a few months, then MS switched to the web app version, so I switched to BlueMail, but it has got it's share of problems, so I settled with Mailbird Free, but I still use Outlook on Android, it does not have limitations like desktop.

Well, I made the decision to try the Ouloo that was bundled in the Windows 1 install.
As far as the MS Office suite I guess I'm longing for the days when I had the software behind me on the shelf even if it would be a USB flash drive.
