Easeus issues Todo Backup -update

I have 2 computers with Easeus todo backup. (2 Lifetime licenses)
I went to run some backups, and surprise, it asked me to update to the later version.
it blocked me saying my licenses are invalid, while running the 2025 update to the 2026 version. I went through this in the past, and they do it again and again... pizzzes me off. I have to go through this again asking them to fix it.

Update, sort of, so I ran this through M.S. Copilot. That says lots of people are having problems with EASEUS forcing updating and invalidating the licenses. I guess I am not the only one. It helped me write a draft to send them for the licenses problems.

I have more of their products... like Partition software too.

They sent my a verification the enabled my serials number with the newest version of Todo backup for both computers. So, it is al good now... but they should not have disabled it in the first place for their forced upgrade.

Easeus closed their Forums years ago, which was too bad. What I have found, as have my clients, is that Easeus Todo Backup Home (ETBH) has a rather cumbersome and unintuitive version update process. I have two licenses as well, and have had them for a very long time.

In the last few years, every time you update your ETBH, the new version opens in 30-day Trial mode. What you have to do is press the Activate button. When you do so, your valid licence should show automatically in the license field. Click the "Activate Now" button, and ETBH should indicate success and your product is one again out of trial mode.

I have had countless ETBH customers complain to me as their computer consultant about this, usually after their "false" trial period expires.

I have stopped recommending ETBH. I have discovered the Hasleo Backup Suite (free and paid - I have paid Pro version), which I test against ETBH and a paid version of Macrium Reflect 8 (MR8), alternating between them for my weekly system images for both of my computers. I post the results every three weeks in a dedicated topic in the Hasleo Forums.

The bottom line: HBS free and paid far outperforms ETBH, in speed and smaller image size. HBS is also marginally better than MR8 (I would not purchase an MRX subscription as I dislike the subscription model for imaging software), so I cannot comment on how well HBS would compare against MRX.

DISCLOSURE: I am a Moderator at the Hasleo Forum, but my testing is completely impartial and independent, and I receive no considerations from Hasleo for being a Forum Member or a Moderator.

If you are unhappy with ETBH, I suggest giving HBS a look.

yes, but the licenses were dectivated.... but there in grey. I had to conTACT them and they re-activated those licenses... I had this happen a few years ago... but they do this it seems every few years... I haven't looked at the other Easuse products I own. I need to check to see if they are still running good. I have the paid version of their partition software too. I like their products, but really dread the activation issues. In the old days, if you dared, in some of the apps you would use black ice and grab the serial numbers out of the code (not legal).

That has not happened to me in the last few years, my licenses being deactivated or to any of my computer clients.

Yes, I have Easeus Partition Master too. I have not had any licensing issues with my lifetime, free upgrades, license. It is an excellent program, better in my opinion that their Backup program.

As I suspected they did the same thing with my Partition magic pro lifetime with upgrades! Activation key no longer works!! dirty dirty dirty! Sent then an email again for another one of their products! this should be illegal!

I am now having the same issue with Easeus Todo Backup. I "upgraded" to the newest 2026 version and it converted the program to a free trial. My lifetime license key no longer works. I have been back and forth with their support for the past 2 days but the issue has not been fixed. I have downloaded the Hasleo program and might switch to that. Every single time I upgrade the Easeus backup program I have this issue. Usually when I contact support they fix it. But this time it's been two days and I am getting the run around. And their offline activation returns an error message that their server is down. Its been doing that for the past 3 years now.

i feel like if I buy any more of their products it is ok to screw me over. I am sick of the b.s. of the lifetime license that you must beg for them to use. There should be a law!

Easeus is developed in China. I have used Easeus and Aoemi partition apps in the past and they worked great. I even tried their imaging apps, but wasn't happy with the interface and performance compared to what I used for years.
I have nothing against foreign software development but in recent times I have been more selective on what software I use.

If you have a registered email and password, you should have access to your "personal area". I don't remember where or how did I register, and that memory might be obsolete anyway or irrelevant for Todo Backup.

I don't have Todo Backup, but I have Partition Master since long ago. The functions of this area have varied through the time.

In past times of Partition Master, they changed the license code with every major version. For v9, 10 and 11 (current version is v20), I wrote emails requesting the new license code, but when I did it for v11 (year 2016) they also told me that I had it in the personal area. This has been the last time I have had to email them for anything, like requesting the license code or, in even older times, a link to the installer (I'm not 100% sure if the license code is in the personal area since v11 or since some older version). They still changed it for v12 and 13, but not anymore.

The personal area is in "EaseUS Customer Service & Support Center or EaseUS Customer Service & Support Center" (*), you'll need your registered email and password.

(*) maybe it's https: instead now or ever. I have copied exactly what I have in a "readme.txt" file written by me through the years, I have the habit to write and store these files in the same folder as the referred sw or item. When they have annotations from different ages, they may have slightly obsolete info but I haven't had occasion to update or not this info. If I were a guru of http vs https I would write more "direct" instead of more "literal", but literalness (that may imply more writing as just now) does also have its advantages.

I tried their customer service area. All it does is allow me to reset my lifetime user's license. But I get the same error message that my license has already been used. I used Revo Uninstaller which brings up the Todo Backup uninstaller. So I let that do the uninstall. Then I let Revo search for leftover files and delete them. I reboot and then run a Regedit to delete every instance of Easeus and Easeus Todo Backup. Then I reboot and install the latest version of Todo Backup. I try to activate my license and again I am met with the error message. Their customer support sucks. All they tell me is they have reset my lifetime license key and to try it again that it should work. Of course it always fails. This has been going on for 3 days now. On the first day I did allow their chat guy to Teamview into my PC. But I quickly closed that down when it looked as if he was trying to delete my other programs. Yesterday I downloaded Hasleo and I'm going to use that from now on. Sucks that I have to redo all of my backups though. But I hate the fact that my lifetime license fails to work with every update of the program.
